Gauge for SharePoint

Turn a target into a clear visual signal, with the exact value always available as text.

Gauge renders a value against thresholds you define, with the reading and its band label always available as text.

  • Platform: SharePoint Online
  • Licensing: Per tenant, annual
  • Accessibility: WCAG 2.2 AA

Interactive preview

Move the slider to change the reading and watch the threshold band update.

Band: On track Target 80%

Bands: below 50% behind, 50 to 79% at risk, 80% and above on track.

The reading and its band label are always rendered as text, so colour is never the only cue.

Capabilities

What Gauge does

Threshold bands
Define ranges with their own labels so a reading is understandable at a glance.
Live data sources
Bind to a SharePoint list, a Microsoft Graph query, or a manual value.
Units and formatting
Display currency, percentages, or counts with locale-aware number formatting.
Multiple styles
Choose arc, half circle, or linear bar to fit the space on your page.
Goal markers
Overlay a target line so readers see progress against the commitment.
Theme aware
Adopts your theme palette while preserving required contrast ratios.

Accessibility conformance

Gauge is developed and tested against WCAG 2.2 AA and is suitable for inclusion in an accessibility conformance report.

  • Exposed with the ARIA meter pattern, including current, minimum, and maximum values.
  • The reading and its band label are always rendered as text, so colour is never the only cue.
  • Threshold colours maintain at least 3:1 contrast against the gauge track.
  • Value updates are announced politely rather than interrupting the reader.
  • Remains legible at 200 percent zoom and at 400 percent reflow.
  • No animation on load when the visitor prefers reduced motion.

Answers

Frequently asked questions

How often does the value refresh?

Refresh interval is configurable, from on page load through to a timed poll of the connected data source.

Can colour-blind readers interpret it?

Yes. Every band carries a text label and the numeric value is always visible, so meaning never depends on colour.

Can I show several gauges together?

Yes. Add multiple instances to a section, and each keeps its own data source and thresholds.
